A wedding at The Babcock House is a wonderful experience. We delight in creating an event especially for you and your quests whether it be on or off premises.

Because of our catering ability and excellent facilities, The Babcock House is a favorite for weddings and other special functions. Our indoor facilities are suitable for rehearsal dinners (seating up to 60 and intimate receptions of up to 100 people). The covered deck allows for additional space in warmer weather.

For those seeking an outstanding location for a traditional, country wedding for 100 to 150 guests, The Babcock House is ideal.

Wedding

We specialize in offering elegance and style not readily found today that allows family and friends to gather in a relaxed atmosphere for your wedding weekend.

Wedding reception on the inn’s grounds.

If you wish, you may have your wedding ceremony and reception on the inn’s grounds. We have a large deck and beautiful gardens perfect for an outdoor wedding ceremony.

House Rental

The House Rental fee for use of The Babcock House facilities for weddings is $2,000.00 per day, beginning at 11 a.m. for the downstairs area and 1 p.m. for the upstairs (or as rooms become available).

The fee includes the use of all downstairs areas, the grounds and all six guestrooms for the day and night of the wedding. rates for rooms prior to or immediately following the wedding may be added at the rate of $600.00 per night for the entire house or rooms may be booked individually on a per room basis.

Bar

State of Virginia laws require all alcohol served on premise to be purchased from us. Alcohol can be purchased per person or per event.

All alcoholic beverages are subject to 15% gratuity and 10% state and local tax

Entertainment

You are welcome to contract with bands, DJ's or combos for the wedding ceremony and/or reception. Our deck may be used for dancing and our lawn area has access to electrical outlets so that portable dance floors may be installed for outside dancing. Appomattox maintains an 11 p.m. noise ordinance.

Estimated Costs and Payments

Changes in the number of guests, set-up times or services can be made no less than 15 days prior to the date of your function. To reserve a date and time, a $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required. The balance of your bill is due in full 7 days prior to event.
